Marco Panessa

Marco Panessa

Marco Panessa is a physicist, educator, and author. His short fiction has appeared in Escape Pod. He currently maintains affiliations with American University and Catholic University of America, and has performed research at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. On the rare occasion he is not teaching or writing, Marco enjoys traveling and impulse-buying more books than he will ever have time to read. He lives with his fiancee in Washington, DC.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in physics from American University, Marco went on to receive a Masters in Physics at Catholic University of America. He worked with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center off and on from 2012 to 2016, affiliated with the FOXSI, HEXITEC, and RHESSI programs. He began his career as an educator at American University as a teaching assistant. Upon completion of his Masters degree, he was invited to return there as an adjunct professor in Astrophysics and Astronomy Lab courses. At heart, however, he has always been a writer, having written his first novel at age 13 and never looking back since.
